About Mountain Rose

Richard & Becky Poppe live at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Northern Utah. This beautiful area of Utah consists of ranchers, farmers, and some good ol' regular folk. We are lucky enough to live near our adult children and our 22 grandchildren. . . and counting. We are further blessed to have their full-time involvement in our lives and the lives of our amazing dogs. 

We are very proud to have previously bred and professionally trained purebred Border Collies as well as Old English Sheepdogs hailing from elite bloodlines out of Scotland and Europe just a few generations back.

Now, after having the wonderful opportunity of being introduced to the Bordoodle breed by our niece and nephew, we absolutely fell in love with the amazing Bordoodle! Words can't describe our appreciation and admiration for this breed. They're truly remarkable and so smart. You can take it from us, as we are also professional trainers of ADA-certified service dogs. Never has there been an easier dog to train. We love this breed!

Because our dogs are an integral part of our family, they receive ample love and plenty of attention.  They accompany us on our various activities around our properties throughout the day. They just love our other animals... and even love our grand-kids who visit daily! Our dogs love to go with us on rides in the truck and hiking in the mountains. Every day in the late afternoon, weather permitting, we take our dogs off-leash into the mountains directly behind our home. We love it and so do they!  Our dogs are a true joy and a loving part of our family!
